Ulead Videostudio 7 by chuckonetwo
Greetings all I have installed the trial version of Ulead Videostudio7 but it wont allow me to drag and drop clips into the timeline, while it will allow me to use the browse function to insert the same clips into the timeline. Does anyone know if this is just a restriction because it's a trial or is something wrong here? sean

DV and audio by Dmitri Shvetsov
Hi All, I suppose I found a solution in microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker. The site recommended by Kelly to fix this, and not only this problem, is: www.the-kellys.org www.the-kellys.co.uk I just renamed the wrong codecs and finally got a video and audio from the same files. Cool. Thanks, Kelly!-)

I've only had this camcorder about 3 months and not used it that much yet yesterday I got warning message "Head Cleaning Required". I stopped filming then started again and the message disappeared and never came back even though I was filming for about another 30 minutes or so. On playback the picture & sound quality is normal so am I best to ignore the warning given or should I clean the...

*** JVC videocam CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT *** SAFEGUARD MODE *** REATTACH BATTERY *** by Juan Carrera
Here is the 04/18/2004 update concerning the "REATTACH BATTERY" or "UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE" problem that seems to be affecting a lot of us JVC video-camera owners. The problem also goes by error codes such as "E01", "E03", "E04" and probably others, depending on the camera model. Many also have had only blank tape to show after videotaping some event, so I have added that issue to ...

Digital Video by Dmitri Shvetsov
Hi, As I wrote earlier I can't read the audio from DV files. That's the warning from one of the codecs. "AVI: Type-1 DV file detected - Cannot extract audio from this type of interleaved stream." As the result the most of programs can't read and use the audio channel. Did anybody get the same problem? That's funny, but using ZR90 I didnt' see this

Microphone spec for a sharp DV camcorder by Nigel Kendrick
Folks, I have a 4-ish year old Sharp DV camcorder that I'd like to dust off and put to some use. One niggle has always been the external microphone spec which, from the manual, is as follows: Input impedance 6.8K, DC voltage on socket 2.7v for a 'power mic'. Sharp (used to?) sell a ridiculously expensive lapel mic to that spec and their only other suggestion was a 600 ohm mic with a decoupling...

Camcorder Suggestions by Declan
Hi there, I'm looking for a good quality camcorder which provides quality footage in low light. I've experimented with quite a few models over the years. Most produce good footage in daylight but most were also very poor in low or artificial light. I see the Sony TRV80 has got excellent reviews in the mags. Does anyone have a good/bad experience with this - or can you recommend another model...

Every nn frame by Dmitri Shvetsov
Hi All, Does anybody know if it possible to create a movie from the DV source downloaded from camcoder so that we get only n-th frame? For example, I'd like to make a movie of a sunset, the sunsets in AZ are so beautiful! I can manipulate with camcoder and play with the frames, but I'd like to play with the DV movie stream to get every 5, maybe every 30, every 100 frame etc. to see what...

newbie question - camera to pc by Strangiato
Hi there I was playing around trying to transfer video from a canon digital camera to presto works video software. My question is very basic. By using the capture function the software produced a 130mb for just 35 secs of camera video. On playing it back the picture was nice and big and seemingly hi res.

scart out to s-video in...is this possible? by fred
I'm trying to get some of my old iffy VHS stuff into the PC and am using a pinnacle card - it all seems to work OK using RF but the results are very average - no surprise there. The card also has an s-video input but apart from the RF-out there's only a scart on my VCR. Is there such a thing as a scart-to-s-video? Would it be bidirectional?
