Someone's done some filming for me and I'd like the raw footage from them. Rather than having to borrow his digicam, can I borrow the tape and capture it via firewire on my own digicam, despite it being a totally different model? Do they share the same on-tape format to make this possible? andyt

I got the answer from Sony support, they wrote that the demo/trial versions are not having any MPEG2/AC-3 codecs and the files that I got were made using another codec installed in my system before I installed Vegas Movie Studio 4. Very funny. I found a way to save the prerendered file that the movie studio creates just to evaluate the quality, it was easy....
