| | Panasonic GS 70 and Firewire by
GaryT@iinetXXX.net.au
Sorry for the silly question but does the Panasonic GS 70 have
firewire connectivity? In the manual it makes a one word mention of it
as does the tutorials on the US pana site but mine does not seem to
have one. I can see the USB port but that's it.

| | camcorder DVD files by
cw
Without having access to the camera on which they were recorded, I need to
import the video from camcorder DVDs into a computer and then compress the
files suitably for posting on a web site. So far I have only had access to a
disc which has been finalised as a DVD movie and it is proving very
difficult to convert and compress the files suitably.
Can anyone tell me if the files on a...

Looking for a cheap solution to using the above camcorder on raft rides and
such at Disneyworld and similar. Doesn't need to be submersible, but good
splash protection required.

| | streaming video? by
jmc
This may be off topic, not sure. I'm trying to create decent-quality
video that will then stream off my website - not download and play,
but stream directly off the webserver. I'm using Pinnacle Studio 9,
I've built video using the 'streaming' button (using Windows Media),
but when I post it to my site it still downloads before it'll play.
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong somewheres, but...

| | Copying to DVD? by
The Crow
Hi.
My DVD recorder has a DV in, and four main quality settings: FINE, SP, LP,
and EP, where EP = extended play.
I have an entry level Canon digital camcorder, the 630i.
I'm just wondering roughly what sort of quality I should be looking to
record my camcorder footage across to my DVD recorder on. FINE equates to 1
hour per DVD, SP to 2 hours and LP to four hours. The camcorder takes good...

| | Stable video editing program for PC? by
Malcolm Stewart
I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 8 on a 1000MHz Athlon, Win98SE, 512MB RAM,
separate HDDs for OS and an 80GB data drive. I've defragged the drives.
(After replacing the original HDD, and re-installing Win98SE the system is
totally stable with all other software.)
I'm trying to edit captured MiniDV footage using Ulead's VS8. If the
capture is fairly small, there's no problem, but currently I'm...

| | corrective filter by
Stuart Tyrer
Just got an underwater camcorder housing and video lamp for a Sony trv 355e
and we are off to the red sea for Christmas.
Do I need a corrective filter, if so is it magenta colour.
And at what depth do you need to use it, or is it constant use in blue
water?
many thanks in advance

| | DVD Aerial Pass Through by
Geoff Lane
Not sure if this is the correct forum but I'm sure I'll get an answer.
What is the purpose of an arial pass through on a DVD player, I can
understand the purpose on a VCR but am a wee bit puzzled re the DVD.

| | Video 8 to digital by
Greig
Sorry if this topic has been discussed earlier, as I'm sure it must have
been. I've got lots of original Video8 recordings dating from nearly 20
years ago. I want to transfer them to DVD. I can do this either via my
computer or Philips DVD recorder using firewire. I have a new Sony digital
video camera which can convert analogue signals to digital. Unfortunately my
Video8 recorder only has...

| | Vaseline Effect with Premiere Pro by

Hi guys.
Is there an effect on Premiere Pro (or a combo of effects) which allows you
to get that soft lens vaseline on the lens look? I can't seem to figure it
out!
Cheers,
Tom

| | Good buy for £400? by
Bob Edwards
OK - I know I could be opening a can of worms here, but I would appreciate
some advice from you users out there. What do think is the best buy at the
moment for 400 quid? - DV camera, Firewire card and cable. No real
requirement for still pics. It's intended as a Christmas present for a
novice.
Thanks in anticipation,
Bob

Very interesting. Allows you to pipe audio from one application into

I have been using Studio 8 for ages now and I'm quite happy with it. I did
try the Adobe one for a while but it was a little too complicated for my

With chrimbo just around the corner I was wondering what other software

Antony Scerri
Hi
Anyone that has purchased the MVX25i (especially from Comet). Does it come
with a lens cap, lens cap cord, and batteries for the remote control. Its
just I have seen two packages on the web, one simply called Canon MiniDV
MVX25i, the other usually has the word "kit" added to the title. The kit
includes lens cap etc on the websites descriptions, but the others don't
seem to. According to Canon...
