My son, for his college work, wants to have a short clip look like video being rewound with picture breakup reminiscent of older VHS players (modern VCRs seem to be able to REW/FF without the same loss of quality). Reversing the clip is no problem. Has anyone got any ideas about a filter/effect that might create the desired output? Using Premiere Pro 1.5.

Maybe I'm crazy. I tried to import the MPEG2 stream from VOB file using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4.0. It was terribly slowly and finally I got MPG file with a little bit less size. Anyone suggest any decent programs for converting AVI files into a format suitable for viewing on a UK TV. I've tried the freebie version of DIKO and was told my frame rate was not supported in the free version, I haven't any idea about frame rate, it was just a movie file created by my Fuji finepic camera. I want to be able to connect my digital video camera to my PC to download and edit my films. The camera is a Canon MVX150i & will connect via an IEEE 1394 (I assume this is firewire).
