| | Advice Req : Internal DVD RE/writer by
Pat Carpenter
Advice required as to a good internal DVD re-writer, Write
compatibility is essential but given the immaturity of dual layer this
is not a requirement.
Yes I could wait but someone wants to give one to Chris for Christmas
(and the DVD). So we'll buy one now and get the replacement when they
sort the standards out.
Help appreciated, trolls ignored unless actually funny.

| | Yakumo XL2 DVD "multiregion" player by
H Bergeron
Dear all,
I bought one of these from Amazon as a second player to play dvd-r.
Recommended it to a friend who wanted a cheap multiregion player, so
he bought one. He is concerned that the back of the player has a
region 2 logo on it (as does mine). Amazon advertise the player as
multiregion, so if it isn't, hell be sending it back. However, neither
of us currently owns any non-region-2 discs to...

| | TMPGEnc versions by
John DH
I did read somewhere on the net that some folk were not satisfied with the
final quality that 3.0 produces. I didn't take too much notice as they
wanted more money to trade up from plus 2.5. However, I am very happy with
plus 2.5. Highly recommended and well worth the money.

I was looking at the virtuoso mc-500 and am planning on buying it or
something similar but I can't seem to find whether it can play a DVD
file system from a hard disk. Does anyone have any experience with
this unit that could answer?
Cheers.

| | DVD±RW Region Free Recorders? by
John
Hi!
The prices for DVD±RW Recorders now seem to be pretty low and I am
thinking of adding one to my computer.
I know that the burning speeds are still pretty poor at 16x and only
4x for +RW/-RW re-writing and DVD+R DL Double Layer burning, however
that is okay to make do with for a year or so until the speeds
increase. I can always leave my system working while I have a bath or
watch TV.

| | DV drivers by
tg
I know there are several DV drivers out there for using the DV from a
camcorder or such in webcam software, but I'd like to find a driver without
the 'activation' bull**** that so many software companies are now using.
This activation thing limits the driver to one computer which is a real ****
off. I don't mind paying for a driver but does anyone know of a DV driver
that doesn't need activation?

I'm thinking of buying this DV camcorder. Does anyone have any good or bad
experiences with it or any advice regarding an alternative (better) model at
about the same price of £350?
Thanks
Bob

| | Canon Pixma IP4000 Any Good? by
Bryan Bellis
Looking at buying a Canon Pixma IP4000, and am particularly interested
in quality of photo print, CD/DVD printing, and how good/useful the
bottom tray is for loading A4 paper, as where I have intend to place
the printer using a top loader would be difficult.
I'd much appreciate comments from owners of this printer please.

frames missing, and plays back flickering with black frames.
If i play the clips in vlc player though the play back is fine. Also, clips
i have captured myself via firewire are fine...
