| | Problems with "titles" by
Julian
Having burnt my first effort of camcorder to vcd (using Roxio Easy Media
Creator 7) I have created separate 2 "titles" on the main menu, each of
which contain a series of clips. Problem is when I play on my DVD player,
only the first title will play, and I can't navigate to, or play, the second
title. This second title never becomes active or highlighted Anyone else
using this software, or...

| | nOObie Q - VHS C to DV by
Phil
After much deliberation and then following Tony's advice, I got a new Sony
HC40E due to arrive early next week :-)))
Q: Will I be able to convert my 10 year old VHS C to DV, w/the "DV in"
feature?
Found this thread that suggests VHS C can be quite easily be converted to
DV:

| | Monopod by
Dave R
Any recommendations for a monopod? Must function in cold conditions,
down to -20C, and therefore must have nice big levers for the adjustments
that can be operated with gloves on. Would like to avoid metal because my
gloves would probably stick to it in those conditions.

| | Need help with digital video cam to DVD by
SDogg
I have a Samsung digital video cam with firewire output. I just
purchased a DVD burner. What is the best way to capture the video using
XP and preferably free software to capture the video and make it
playable on home DVD players ?
I have made a few clips to my HD using XP movie maker but it saves it as
wmv and I do believe it needs to be in mpg format to create a dvd ?
Any help would be...

| | Bulk encoding AVI files by
Paul King
I have all of the video of my kids on my PC as AVI files - all 25 hours
of it!!
I would like to make a "backup" to DVD. I will accept the loss in
quality by going to MPEG2 because of the reduction in size of the
images. eg; about one DVD per hour. (That is right isn't it?)
Is there a good encoding program to let me convert all the files in a
batch operation? eg; let it run overnight etc to...

| | wide screen first camcorder by
alex
Can anyone please help me. I've used 3ccd cameras, but have never used
single ccd ones, and I'm looking to buy one for home, to try out and learn
more on.
Does anyone know the cheapest, but ok camcorder that does widescreen (or
some form of cropping the picture for widescreen) and has a mic input?
When I look at the specifications it's difficult to know which do
widescreen, some mention it, and...

| | Copying NTSC Tapes by
Steve Webb
I have a Bush VCR that happily plays back NTSC tapes on my Bush 6690D
idtv, it senses that they are NTSC automatically. The devices are
connected via a scart lead. I recently bought a Canon MV700i digital
camcorder and thought it worth trying to copy my old NTSC tapes to dv
minitapes via the camcorder.
I plugged a scart-to-3-RCA adapter in the VCR and connected up the
camcorder with the stereo...

| | Removing Colour Casts by
Olympiad
I'm in the process of editing some video I shot recently in Lapland, however
due to the strange light and snow conditions over there a few of the scenes
have an obvious cast on them - some pinkish and some bluish.
I'm using Ulead VideoStudio to do the editing which has colour correction
filters and from my early experiments, a yellow filter seems to help correct
the blue tint and a green...

| | Bush DVDHS02 problems by
John Stumbles
I've recently bought a Bush DVDHS02 combined VHS/DVD recorder (from
Makro, UK) and so far I've found some problems on it.
1: I set the machine to copy from a tape to a +RW disc, filling up the
disc. (There's no way to program a tape-to-disc copy for a certain time
or to an index point on the tape or anything like that, so the only
alternative is to wait around and stop the machine manually...

| | DVD authoring software by
Peter Irving
Hi Guys,
Having used the 'Light' versions of authoring software since I got my dvd
writer drive, I now find having recoprded and edited my first small
production in 16:9 aspect that my software will not write in that aspect
ratio.
Can anyone suggest reasonable priced software that will allow both 16:9
format but chaptering and menus etc.
Thanks

| | (OT?) fuji s5500 interface protocol by
Mike Scott
Sorry if this is OT, but I can't see where else to ask.
Can anyone say what protocol fuji use for their s5500 digital camera
please -- is it USB mass storage? I'm after a new camera, but want one
with an open protocol.
Oh, if anyone can suggest a better still camera in the price range, I'd
be interested!
Many thanks.

| | ImageMixer7.1 and win2000 compatible? by
corlioni1976
Hi All,
I bought the JVC DX77 in the sales and have found it to be a really good
camcorder. However, I am having problems with the provided software.
ImageMixer7.1 works on my XP machine (450MHz PII, no firewire). I connect
using the USB port and it picks up the camcorder and editing is not very
good, but it works. When I connect the camcorder to my faster machine (win
2000, 1.2 GHz, PIII,...

| | Reccomendations on camcorder by
Adam Lipscombe
Folks,
I am a complete newbie - I have never owned a camcorder, and have only used
one twice.
I am thinking of getting one in the Jan sales. Its primarliy to take family
footage: kids, hols etc.
Maybe other stuff if I get any good with it.
I need something good quality and easy to use. An easy PC link is vital.
