help with graphedit by AndyE
A week or so, Johan kindly pointed me in the direction of Graphedit, as a means of recording multiple live streams to disk at the same time. However, I need to record one real device (a miniDV cam connected via FireWire) and a second virtual device (video screen capture software) at the same time. I've managed to find the correct device filters, but I cannot find a way to interconnect the...

I'm making some avi's to be read on someone else's w*ws machine. It suddenly occurred to me I haven't a clue what avi codecs they'll have installed; I also know they won't know how to find out. Does anyone have a list of w*ws (98!!) "standard" ones please? Thanks in advance. -- Please use the corrected version of the address below for replies.

Image stabiliser questions by AndyE
Basic question: Are software stabilisation tools better than the ones built into cameras? If so, which software tools are good? Here's the background: My camcorder has a digital image stabiliser built in, which works remarkably well most of the time. Sometimes my slow panning movements become a little "robotic", but that is a small price to pay for a much steadier shot.

Dead MV10 by Mal
I have a completely dead MV10. a DC supply of 12 V and unknown polarity was stuffed into the (7.2V?) dc in jack. This may be coincidental ..I opened the thing up to see if there was a blown fuse or regulator circuit - I cant find a fuse. There is a small board on which is (amonst other things) a 4-way (or was it 6-way) conector that routes red/black power from the battery to this (regulator?)...

Tape error problems with Canon XL1s by Headrush Films UK
my XL1s has developed a problem when I put a tape in the camera that is not at the end of the tape I get a error eject tape, this seems to be a common problem on Canon cameras but no one seems to say what the cure is I have cleaned the heads and whilst this has made a very slight difference it certainly does not cure the problem, which seems to get worse when the camera get hotter, I don't...

I edited a 5 minute programme on Premiere Pro and rendered it to an AVI file before transcoding and burning to DVD with Encore. Prem Elements Trial by spamfrog
I have been using the trial version of Premiere Elements, doing what I want to do with it and comparing it to Pinnacle 9 se which was pre installed on my PC. I was very happy that I could import wma files to use as soundtracks as this is what I rip my CD's to as a rule. I was VERY disappointed to find that the imported wma files are corrupted. I have gone back to Windows media player and...
