EO Video problem - on conversion, ActiveVideo Window pops up & aborts conversion. What to do? by Traveller
This is a new install of EO Video after an OS wipe/reinstall. EO Video is displaying behaviour it never has before. On most AVI files that I'm trying to convert to VCD, instead of starting the conversion process, the convert Start button opens up the movie in an "ActiveVideo Window" and after a few seconds the conversion is automatically aborted. I've looked everywhere in the help file and did...

Womble Mpeg2VCR by Chris Croughton
This software sounds good, but I downloaded it and installed and it asks for a key. Since the site asked for an email address before I downloaded (and that forms part of the filename) I assume that something is supposed to send me an evaluation key, but I haven't received it. I've sent them a message (copied to the same address, and that arrived) but no reply as yet. Has anyone else dealt with...

"Normalizing" audio in MPG files by Laurence Payne
On Wed, 06 Apr 2005 23:55:29 +0100, Simon Patten wrote: One of the methods I use for capturing video results in rather low volume audio. I've tried fixing it at source without avail but using the excellent VideoReDo editor I can save the files out as .MPV and .MPA so what I need to do is "normalize" (i.e. bring the volume up to a respectable level) the audio, then...

Fooling HDMI + HDCP player into removing HDCP by Alan Truelove
I have a HDMI + HDCP DVD player (Pioneer DVR-920H to be exact), but only a DVI-D plasma screen. The DVD player refuses to play thru the HDMI output because the plasma does not accept HDCP. Does anybody know if there is a gadget on the market to fool the DVD player's output into thinking that my plasma is HDCP compatible, thereby letting me watch via the HDMI output?? (Is it likely that...

Studio 9 DVD burning problems by John Barnfield
Can anybody help me. Studio 9 gets all the way to the stage of DVD burning (on a Pioneer 105), starts (leaving a sign of burning on the disk) and then fails almost strait away. Any comments on what might be wrong or ways round it would be appreciated. Thanks.

repair or replace DV camcorder? by John Stumbles
My Panasonic camcorder (NV-DS27) is playing up. It'll record seemingly happily but then on playback it'll appear as if the tape is blank - except once, tantalisingly, it showed a bit of what it should have recorded (a bit blockily) before refusing to play it again. Now it quite often demands to be Reset when I try to start it up. It seems a shame to throw it away but is it likely to be...

Apologies by ::::Jerry::::
Last night, I had an epiphany. I was fortunate to catch myself writing, what I now know was a steaming pile of vitriolic bull****. And when I started to go back over the stuff I have written, it was instantly clear I had to apologise. My name is ::::Jerry:::: and I am a troll. There...I said it. I want to be very honest about everything right from the beginning and so I want you all to...

If any: Which TFT for NLE ? by Claus C. Plaass
I am currently upgrading some NLE components of mine, and wonder if and which TFT monitors with their certain specifics have already become an option for NLE systems. My VGA is the Matrox 550 Dual Head. By now, I put the program window (Premieres of all versions) on a CRT, and preview on a simple TV. That works fine. I wonder, if any TFT can be used for the program window, (and maybe for...

Firewire and Drivers by Mark Phillips
Hi All I've got a JVC GR-D53 camcorder, I bought a firewire card some months back and when I installed it in my PC I dabbled a bit, and got some results, but to do any serious work I needed to clear disk space. Now when I've gone back to the setup, the PC doesn't see the camera. My question is... should I need to load drivers specific for the camera to see it via firewire? Unfortunately I'm a...

Aldi Analogue Video converter by Gripper
Hi just a heads up for people looking for a decent analogue video converter: Aldi today started selling a "Tevion DVD Maker" for £29.99. Picked one up about two hours ago. First impressions are excellent: the quality is very good: it uses USB 2 and can capture from either S-video or composite inputs and L/R audio (sent to the line input on your soundcard). The software included is not rubbish...
