| | Where to buy Sony VX-2000? by
red
Hello.
I'm looking for getting the VX-2000E (or PD-150) camera from second
hand. Could you provide me with some links to pages with advertisements
or any useful information where I could find such a camera? (London
area)
Unfortunately, Ebay has currently only one auction on VX-2000.

| | Sony CCD-SC55E Value by
Jon Garner
Hi All,
I have a Sony CCD-SC55E Hi8 Handycam which is no longer needed. Just
wondering if it is worth trying to sell it.
The camera is in full working order and like new condition. It would come
complete with Miranda case\bag, instructions, remote control and the
relevant leads etc.
So, question is, what do you think this is worth (if anything at all)? The

| | Sagem not finding More4 (Ch. 14) by
Mike O'Sullivan
Just did a channel update for my two Freeview boxes. My Nokia found Channel
14, "More4" ok, but new Sagem box did not. I booted the Sagem and did
another re-store, but no dice. Both boxes from the same aerial.
Anybody else with a Sagem had the same problem?.

| | accelerate performance through 2nd hdd by
gaspedalo@gmx.at
Hi. I've got a shuttle barebone which offers RAID function. I have one
Maxtor Diamond 10 with NCQ inside, which works great. But I am curious
wether it would accelerate the performance a lot if I'd add a second
HDD to make it a RAID or is the videoperformance depending more on the
graphics card? I am a video editor, I use Combustion and Vegas Video.
Securing the data would be a nice...

| | Canon MVX45i by
Geir
Anyone who knows how to make a CANON MVX45i record well in shaded and dark
areas? I just bought it and trusted the stick on the box that says that it
had night mode and supernight mode but but it produces nothing but crap
after the sun goes down no matter what settings I try. It looks like it's a
piece of fraud from Canon that it should be able to perform anything in
shaded areas. It does...

| | Recommendations needed (but I have a fair idea) by
Lee Davison
Im looking for a cheapish camcorder which is in line with the following:
1) Small
2) Lightweight
3) Decent ish image quality (I have a 3.2mp camera that can do video, it
needs to be better than this)
4) No requirement for photos - I have the camera for that!
5) Pretty good in poor light - want to do a lot of woodland filming
As an added bonus, on a maybe more expensive camera;

DG
No doubt everyone has their favourite tape but nevertheless what is the
suggested 'best' tape?
Is there really much difference between one brand and another?
I'm sorry if this has been done to death previously but I've been unable to
find anything helpful.
Thanks.

| | Panasonic NV-DS27 by
Simon ocane
When I was on holiday recently in San Francisco I was accosted by a
salesperson who dragged me into his shop and proceeded to show me how a
replacement lens would improve the camera. The lens appeared to be wide
angled and definitely improved the quality of the camera. He told me that
the current lens on the camera was very good and Panasonic did not provide
as good a lens now. He started...

| | In-car recording by
Paul Parr
For a couple of years I've been making on-board videos from racing cars
using a Canon 600i MiniDV.
I record about 30 mins of racing at a time and I store the final videos
(edited to about 15 min) on a MiniDV tape as 4GB avi files.
The picture source is a remote (bullet) camera connected to the AVin on the
Canon.
As the Canon is showing its age a bit, I have thought about replacing it
with a...

| | Is buying a Digital8 handycam a bad idea? by
Beemer
I am interested in buying a used Digital8 handycam instead of a new or used
miniDV camera.
Points I have noted a
Pros: 60minute recording, x25 optical zoom (I would use to x8), DV in/out,
Firewire with S-video pass-through.
Cons: much heavier, B&W low res optical viewfinder, 2.5" (small?) lcd
viewfinder, is it an obsolete format?

| | AVI file conversion? How? by
Malcolm H
Some time ago I created some .avi files using the Data Translation
'Broadway' capture card and software. Now I no longer use Broadway but have
changed to Studio9 with the Pinnacle av/dv capture card.
I now wish to edit some files which were created with the Broadway system
but find that the .avi files are not recognised by Studio. This is
presumably because the Broadway codec is no longer...
