Steadycam - home made version by RobDee
Thanks (and apologies in advance) to whoever I got this link from - it was quite likely someone on this group, I can't honestly remember. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/ Anyway, I have something to add, so it's not just a repeat: I built one of these things, suitably adapted to locally available tools and materials. I mainly make Wildlife and Adventure type productions, but also...

Adobe Premiere Elements by Gaz
Anyone got any experience of using this? I'm looking at software for editting stuff from my Sony DCR-HC22E - cutting out unused footage, adding nice transitions, maybe soundtracks, captions etc. before buring to DVD. I've already got NeroVision Express which I got in with a load of other Nero stuff, and it seems quite easy to use, apart from the actual editting of clips to get rid of...

Video Action, North London. by :::Jerry::::
Does anyone know if 'Video Action' (and presumably the parent company) has been wound up / closed down? I know that the owner died a month or so back but now even their domain (page) seems to have gone, defaulting to their host's index page.

video quality by David Cleland
this is a reassurance type request. I am a little dissappointed with the clarity of my dv work (using a 3-400 pound camera) it is not movie quality - is that to be expected ? what sort of money do you need to spend to get tv / movie quality output ? David

Panasonic GS150 audio volume by Tony Morgan
In message , Dariusz writes Anyone have this camera and think the sound that the built-in microphone records is REALLY low in volume (or is it just my camera)? When I comes to edit video, I have to raise the levels a lot on the cameras footage. Seems to be irrespective of zoom / normal mic mode. Also sounds quiet...

Charter of uk.rec.video.digital. (Longish) ver.1.0/05 by :::Jerry::::

How can this be? by Tim Walters
I live in Spain. A lot of TV programmes from outside Spain are broadcast over the Dual/Nicam system, so on the main audio channel you hear the dubbed version in Spanish, and on the second channel you get the original version in English or French or whatever. I just watched an American programme - recording it at the same time - and listened to it in English over the Nicam channel. There was a...

Mic input on MiniDV cams by Pnj6
Audio specifications of MiniDV units are very hard to find on the net. Does anyone here know of a MiniDV camera (or a brand) which has stereo mic inputs? I'll be recording a music event in the near future and don't want to rely on built-in mics to do the job I want. Thanks!

miniDV to DVD transfer - what causes the quality drop by b_whittle@hotmail.com
Hi, Apologies if this has been covered before. I am trying to copy my miniDV tapes onto DVD using a standalone DVD recorder. I connect the two with an iLink cable. I've tried recording in 2 hour mode (i.e. 2 hours of video onto one disc) but I don't get good quality. I know that DV is much more data intensive (for want of a better term) than DVD so some compression and quality loss must...

DVD-player only sees part of (S)VCD by robin
Hi, When I make a (S)VCD movie using TMPGEnc to encode the Avi and Nero to burn, my DVD player (JVC XV-N33) most of the times only sees part of the movie (eg. my DVD player sees 36 minutes (and only plays this), while there are 52 minutes on CD). When I insert the CD in my PC, Media player sees the entire movie, and plays it flawlessly. I tried burning with the (S)VCD complient box in Nero...

Can someone explain to me how to perform very simple video edits in Avid or Premiere by quentinhudson@hotmail.com
Hi, I have started a temporary contract position with a small multimedia company. Although, my main area is Windows support, I am constantly bothered by people wanting spliced and diced audio and video files. Although I am not familiar with either area, the audio editing software is fairly intuitive and I have got by. I am afraid with video tools (Avid and Premiere), I am lost. I dont want to...

Hello in the first place sorry by my language but this is a translation of Google, my question is the following one, I hope to be able to explain it technically, I have a camera JVC DVL867EG, and am publishing video for a Web site of my town, can see it in www.ronda.ws, the question is that I am doing it in average Windows Media and to me if in QuickTime as of both consumes less resources? ...
