| | DON'T FEED THE TROLLS !!! by
Tony Morgan
There's recently been an incursion of trolls in this newsgroup.
They are easily recognisable by:
1. Posts that have nothing whatsoever with digital video, digital
video formats, camcorder use, editing, video editing and
associated equipment, hardware and software.
2. Persistent and repeated posts that contribute nothing to the
newsgroup.

| | Corpse Bride by
Andy Jacobs
Hi all
Not sure if this is the right place but I've been lurking a bit and you
seem like a friendly bunch in the main :o)
Just read a very interesting article about the making of Corpse Bride
and how it was all done using a D1S shooting stills and then all
stitched together using Final Cut.
I just wondered if anyone has tried this. I fancy having a go just for

| | Frame Capture by
Rudiga
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me, I am looking for a piece of software that
will reduce an avi video clip into a series of jpeg images. I have played
with software such as VirtualDub however I would have to do this manually
for each frame, considering that my videos will be about 2~ mins long, would
be somewhere in a 3000 frames, I would like to find a way of converting them
in one go. I have...

| | Problem re-encoding captured digital TV by
Ben Thomas
Hi all,
My apologies if this is not an appropriate newsgroup for my query. I'd really
appreciate it if someone could help me solve the problem.
I have a Vstream digital tuner card and recorded for 60 minutes which resulted
in a 3GB MPEG file.
I tried converting it to an AVI with pocket divx encoder, virtual dub, and
TMPGENC, but all failed to convert a single byte with different error...

| | Small mike for a Sony camcorder? by
Tony Morgan
In message , Peter
writes
Hi All,
I occassionally use a camcorder aboard a light aircraft. The noise
level is far too high for the built-in mike to be any good and the
standard trick is to use an external mike tucked inside one of the
headsets; the mike then picks up anything the pilot hears (or...

| | miniDV: PC: CD by
vj
Hi all,
I am trying to transfer my videos from my Sony MiniDV camcorder to my
PC Hard disk, and then eventually to a CD.
I have following queries:
(1) What file format (e.g. AVI, MPEG etc) is a good choice that gives
small file size without compromising on quality of video transferred to
hard disk? (When I am asking this question, I have in mind the options
AVI, MPEG, DV etc. available in Ulead...

Mike Scott
I'm rapidly getting in a muddle, I think; would appreciate tips &
short-cuts (if any).
The problem I have is a commercial DVD which I've bought. The sound
track has a significant delay wrt the video, which is extremely irksome
as it's a drumming (bodhran) tutorial; you can imagine the effects of
the delay. I've half a mind to return as faulty; but tbh the material
looks actually quite...

| | Canon MVX330i Colour Cast? by
Lou van Wijhe
In general I am very content with this new camcorder but I feel a bit uneasy
about it's colour rendition. The colours look nice but are not completely
faithful, i.e. pink turns to violet and warm orange (a popular colour
amongst Dutch soccer fans!) turns to red. Please take a look at
http://home.hccnet.nl/jl.van.wijhe/Pics/Kleurtest.jpg to see what I mean.
Canon suggested to take the camera to...

Hi all,
I have a P3 500Mhz PC running win xp pro and half a gig of memory.
I have dabbled with trying to do some video editing before with no
success. I currently have the new Nero 6 suite which came with a new
DVD writer that i bought. I have used nero vision express and captured
video perfectly with no dropped frames and no problems. It does
however take ages to transcode the captured...
