I'm using a Canon MV850i for archiving edited DV footage. Some of this stuff will likely sit on a shelf for months/years. Can anyone recommend a particular brand etc that's known to work well with the 850i? Alternatively, are there any makes to avoid like the plague? I have got a new Sony DCR-HC19E camcorder which I am happy with in every way except the sound quality. Basically it seems to distort all but the quietest sounds. If I record someone speaking then when I play it back via the telly the picture quality is fine, but the sound 'wobbles' slightly, the best way I can describe it is that it makes people sound a bit like darliks! I cannot get MS PowerArchiver at public library to split my AVI files into smaller chunks and then store the chunks back onto my digital camera. Can anyone recommend a disc labelling program that has good output options for artwork. Most programs I have used are good at local printing, etc but don't offer much in the way of exporting files.
