No sound on Power Director recordings by Paul S
I'm archiving some short (2-3min) recordings from my Pace Twin PVR to my PC using an S-Video lead and red/white audio cables. I'm using Power Director 3 (came with the PC). After I've captured 2 recordings, I lose sound on any subsequent recordings. Anyone any idea why ? I can't see any settings/preferences that look wrong.

Dim person wants video editing software.... by nickc
Can anyone recommend video editing software that has a manual that clearly explains ( in one side of A4) how to 1. take footage from DVD RAM camera 2. transfer to hard drive. 3. cut and rearrange clips 4. transfer back to DVD (ram -r +r ....etc) The software I've seen thus far have operating manuals that assume the reader intends to spend the rest of their life learning how to do fancy

buying an obsolete model? by Beemer
Apart from ebay is there anywhere I can look to buy a new but obsolete digital camcorder? I'm thinking that I could save money this way and presumably it won't have the risk that as a used unit it might have been mistreated. Looking for something like a full spec Sony Digital-8 Beemer

Philips DVDR3320V/05 Questions by Gilgamesh
A quick question for anyone that has this DVD Recorder. I'm looking at buying one and hooking my Pay-Tv up via SCART RGB and SCART from the Philips to my TV. If the recorder is powered down when I'm not using it can the Pay-Tv signal still be passed through to the TV? The reason I want to stick to SCART is that I have a widescreen TV that automatically detects the aspect ratio of the signal...

MVP DVD MPG AVI by Grumps
I think the subject covers my question ;-) What's the best/easiest way to rip one of my DVDs into an AVI or MPG so that it does not contain the AC3 audio and will therefor play on my Hauppauge MVP player?

Video unsharp - why? Premier 1.5 by Peter Winter
For the Internet I am creating a 20min Video based on a simple Powerpoint Slideshow with spoken Text. How did I do it? Simple: I saved the Slids as small .jpg's (with 400x300 px (as this should play in a window with about 350x255 px) build my movie in Premier Pro1.5 importing the ..jpg's into Premier and saved this as .wmv! The result is unsharpness in the slides specially visible where text...

small HDD by Mark H
Hi, a basic question relating to Pinnacle Studio 8 which I've finally got round to using to put my mini DV on to DVD. I have a relatively small HDD which won't be enough for a full hours worth of DV material. Having looked at the manual it implies what I'm trying to do is a 3-step process, namely... 1: capture/edit the material 2: create / render the image

scaling down video by tg
does anybody know of any free software that will convert an s-video/PAL capture down to a webcam type format. I capture video from the s-video port on a camera into a Pinnacle TV card but the card's native driver works at 720x586 pixels/25fps. I'm trying to use the videocamera as a webcam on Skype but the video signal is too much for it so I need to scale it right down to say 352x288/15fps....

mpg to avi by Andy Jacobs
Hi All I'm after a tool that will convert some mpg files to avi files. Preferably free as it's for a small project and we'll probably never use it again. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Alternatively, there are 8 files ranging from just over a meg to around 40 megs. Maybe someone could give me a cost for doing it if I can upload them somewhere and give FTP access so that you can...

dv out on sn41g2 shuttle by Dean
Has anyone experience of firewire ports on the sn41g2 xpc? Do they work both ways? It seems some onboard firewire hardware isn't fully functional. Maybe shuttle is one of them. I can capture from my camera successfully, but trying to export dv to the camera results in no sound or video being recorded. The application (MS MovieMaker 2.1) activates the camera to start and stop recording OK, but...

sony cam and AV-in to DV-out by Dean
I tried to use the supplied scart adapter and av connecting lead to input a vcr to my sony DCR-HC30 then onto my PC via iLink. I video to video (as opposed to s-video) and activated AVin-DVout option. Nothing is displayed by the camcorder. I later found the camera works OK as I tried using another lead I had laying around (from a matrox card G400tv). This has scart on one end with s-video & 4...

Editing together multiple sources? by Tony Morgan
In message , Ed Chilada writes OK, but your experience is dated and doesn't appear to be Windows related (perhaps you learnt OS scheduling years ago and assume You have obviously missed the word "since". Windows works the same way?). ' Indeed it does. You really shouldn't believe all the Microsoft hype.
