DV time-code in Pinnacle (8 & 10) by Andrew Engels Rump (formerly Leif Andrew Rump)
When I capture from my DV camera using Pinnacle 8 it splits the shots using to time-code (I know that for sure because I hadn't set the time and date on the camera when I made the first few shots and they where not split). Does Pinnacle store the time-code somewhere because I have looked and searched in the program, the manuel and on the internet and haven't been able to find it! Does Pinnacle...

Sony Vegas ... how do you trim? by Byran
Trying to compare vegas, premiere, and media studio pro, as to which one is best. It's so strait forward with premiere and media studio pro. Where to the freak is "mark in" and "Mark out" equivalent on Vegas 6? It's been pretty unfriendly doing the same functions compared to premiere and MSP. I have my cursor set and really thinking vegas 6 is running a distant third..

Sony DVD92e Moisture/Condensation Problem by timothy.hill@gmail.com
Hi, I have purchased the above camera and I am getting the said error very regularly. This occurs to such an extent that it makes the camera useless... I have tried to dry it out first using a hairdryer and then wrapping it in a towel and placing it on top of a radiator. Both of these worked to a certain extent in that when I reset the machine, the error went away. However, the error keeps on...

problem editing dvd by Laurence Payne
A video DVD has three VOB files. It plays faultlessly in a DVD player program. I need to edit it. It imports OK into Vegas, but as three segments. However carefully I align, there is a video and audio dropout at the joins. I have tried rendering to a single avi using AutoGK. Video/Audio synch is lost. This matters - it's a recording of a musical performance. Any better ideas?

MicroMV by G Hardy
Has anyone had any success capturing from these types of camera? I've borrowed one for a one-off job, the PCs don't respond to plugging it into USB, and it "bing bong"s * when plugged in via firewire, but it can't be found with either MSP's capture module or Windows Movie Maker. It displays "MPEG-in" when plugged via firewire. I don't fancy capturing from its analogue-out, partly because it...

newbie: compress video ? by Howard9
Hi all, I just had a vid tape, of a tv program I was in, converted to a mpg file recently - and through a series of mad experimentations... I ended up finding an app called MPEG video wizard and managed to cut out and save the clip that I wanted. However the clip is 20 mins long and is still 960mb in size. I would love to be able to reduce it so that it fits on a CD or to a size I can...

Can my camcorder be repaired at reasonable cost? by dw
Hope this is the right place for my query. I have a Canon MV630i that my little daughter managed to pull off a shelf onto the floor! Ever since, although it turns on, the screen is just a series of vertical blurry lines (as is the view through the eyepiece). If I were to send someone a picture I took, onto the SD card the camera has, of what I see on the screen would they be able to tell me...

video clips to DVD problems by Iain Robinson
Hi all I've taken a series of video clips (2-5mins each in length) on my digital camera (Sony dsc-v3) and I'm having a problem getting them successfully into DVD compliant files. I'm using Pinnacle Studio 9 and when I import them it warns me that "You have added a clip to this project that uses a non-standard video frame rate. This may cause AV-sync problems during Make Movie". The clips...

CCTV format conversions by G Hardy
Does anyone (ideally located in the northwest) have the ability to convert DMI (CDR) and B/W Multiplex (VHS) CCTV footage to DVD or something I can use to make a DVD? Email me offlist (pretty obvious spam munging on the email address) with a rough price. Nine tapes, not sure how many CDRs.

BitTorrent by ivan
Please forgive my naivety (but I'm venturing into new territory with my computer) over on uk.politics someone posted a link for TV show (Robert Newman's History of Oil) which they said could be downloaded with a programme called BitTorrent. Only having a vague idea of what this was all about I decided to download BitTorrent from their site and give it a whirl, after installing it on my computer...

This is probably a silly question, but I took a video clip on my digital camera in "portrait" mode and would like to rotate the resulting AVI so it is the right way up when played on a PC. Is this possible, and if so how? Mike
