Mauve shadows on sky scenes? by DavidM
If I video a landscape type scene with sky of part blue and part cloud I nealy always end up with mauve "shadows" which move across the picture, especially if I pan the camera at all. On advice from my local camera shop I fitted a uv filter, but this seemed to make little or no difference. My cam is a JVC DVL9600. This mauve shadow becomes even more obtrusive once I've downloaded the video onto...

Camcorder: DVD v MiniDV by Grumps
A few questions that you lot may know the answers to; Which format provides the best quality? Only need minor editing in Premier Elements, and producing 'home movies' on DVD. Do the DVD camcorders take longer to power up and start shooting? Can the DVDs be read directly in a PC?

One firewire source to four simultaneous outputs? by Bramble
Hi We would like to record the video output from a camera to four separate laptops at the same time using firewire. The video would then be edited for different clients. This would save time over capturing the video onto each laptop separately. This device can take one input and output it on more than one firewire port at the same time, but there will be some degradation in video quality.

Transposing by F9
I want to take some DVDs of home movies and change then into AVI's for computer use, etc. I've tried googling for some free software to do this, but nothing comes up that will do the complete dvd - usually the trials will do 10 minutes or so only. If anyone knows of something I can use I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Please help - Does Avid Liquid 7 support HD input? by :::Jerry::::
"Peter" wrote in message ... I have installed the program, but can't get it to import any video. It can control the camcorder OK but I cannot see anything appearing in the program, or being saved as a file. In the online help there isn't anything useful. In the input config the highest resolution, for a Custom...

Premiere 6.5 - Transparency query by talacrush
I'm trying to apply a fade-in fade-out image overlay to a video i'm editing. With Premiere I understand the way to do it is to place the image file in the Video2 slot on the timeline then drag something called The Opacity Rubberband which adjusts the fade-in fade-out effect. Seemed straight forward, but having set this up, when I preview as the timeline plays across the image file, all that...

Adobe Premiere general working principles by Grumps
Hi All Firstly, I've looked at various adobe.premier groups, but they seem to be pretty much dead! Just gone and bought Premier Elements 2.0 to make a short (30-40min) DVD. So far it seems really quite easy to use, but I've only played around with various scene transitions, audio fades, and created a 40 second clip. The end project will be composed of probably 8-10 5 min scenes. Each scene

Small mike for a Sony camcorder? by Malcolm Stewart
"Peter" wrote in message ... Hi All, I occassionally use a camcorder aboard a light aircraft. The noise level is far too high for the built-in mike to be any good and the standard trick is to use an external mike tucked inside one of the headsets; the mike then picks up anything the pilot hears (or...

Analogue question by Newshound
Sorry but I expect you will have some good advice. I want to save a few 8 mm tapes from an analogue camcorder to a desktop PC (and edit them down when I get around to it). Would I be better off with a pci card or would the USB cheapies on ebay be OK? I don't have firewire on mine (but my son has, if I'm better off using that). I'd consider getting a combined tv tuner card but I don't really...
