Simple DV camera for elderly person by Chris Loffredo
Hi, I know practically nothing about digital video cameras (including standards, ect.), so I thought I'd ask here for advice. My elderly mother has been diagnosed with cancer and wants to document the whole experience. What is needed is: =1) Something simple to use (she won't read the instructions or

Bird Baths by Palindr☻me
Hi, I have a neighbour who is no longer physically able to get to a window or to her garden and is much missing being able to do so. I have in mind a project which involves two video cameras looking at her bird bath..(feathered kind, before you get too excited). The composite video signals from those end up in the adjacent house, where she can see them on her TV/computer screen.

Copyright theft - a scumbag amongst us. by franklin.sr@gmail.com
Jerry in your world of black and white tell me something. When you posted text you 'stole' from creativecow regarding the new version of Vegas, did you ask for their permission to do so before you did it? I'd suggest that you didn't, and I'd suggest they probably would care either, but under YOUR terms of reference you are a scumbag thief. You took advertising revenue from the mouths of the...

Bingo night and Rumpole of the Bailey please help by franklin.sr@gmail.com
My mum is going to Bingo on Saturday night and I offered to record it on my PVR for her. My mum will arrive home halfway through the program and I suggested that we could sit down using the timeshift function and cut out the adverts. My concern is two fold. 1. Am I breaking copyright law, if my mum invites some friends over to

DV Camcorder with DV In? by Tony H.
Hi, I am looking to buy a DV Camcorder to replace my trusty but now not functioning Sony TRV 10E. My main requirement is that the camcorder MUST have DV In enabled in order for me to send the finished tape (post editing on the PC) back to the camcorder. When I bought the original Sony in 1998, I also bought a widget which enabled the unit, but it doesn't look like you can do this with newer...

LANC & Sony MiniDV by Malcolm Stewart
Can I use a LANC remote control to turn my TRV22 (or TRV60) camcorder from "Off "to "Standby", and then to "Record"? I'd like to try capturing close-ups of birds feeding at a feeder, either by my awaiting their arrival or by using some sort of IR device to sense their visit. Zoom etc. would be preset so all I'm interested in is using the LANC to get the camcorder out of its "Off" mode, which...

File Conversion AVI to DVD by Brian@homecall
have over the years converted a fair number of family videos by capturing the video as AVI and MPEG1 files using TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG2 and then DVD Author to actually create the final DVD files. Just recently I have been experiencing problems with the audio syncronisation. It not only happens in TMPGEnc but also when I've used the other programmes that I have ie CuCusoft Video convertor...

Rode StereoVideo mic by Malcolm Stewart
Has anyone tried the new Rode StereoVideo microphone? I'm wondering whether it's worth the money (~£170) over cheaper electrets. It appears to have a form of in-built anti-vibration suspension to isolate it from the camera's motor noise. Curently I use the Beyer device which works OK but raises the height of the mike quite a bit. -- M Stewart Milton Keynes, UK

Getting a good bluescreen effect in cel animation drawings by Luis Ortega
I have some cel animation drawings done on white paper that I will scan or photograph and import into Photoshop and Premiere and I was wondering what is the best way to create a blue screen effect so that I can drop a background photo behind the cel drawings into the white of the paper. Since there are quite a few cels in the animation, I can't really make a selection of the backgrounds in...
