Pinnacle Studio 8 Output to DV Tape by David Beck
I'm having problems outputting video from Studio 8 to a Panasonic NV-GS70 via IEEE1394 cable. Studio 8 begins the process and I can see my camcorder go into pause and then record mode, the initial frame is frozen (all this seems to be as expected), then when the software switches the camcorder into record mode, it records approx 1 second (probably less) of video and then no more seems to be...

VHS Tape Capture Advice Please? by Spidey
Hi, I'd like to start a business in my local town offering a VHS --- DVD conversion service. I've got a DVD writer but find the area of Video Capture Cards and Editing Software to be very confusing. Can anyone recommend the right kit to use that would be suitable for commercial quality rather than just home use? WinTV seem to do some cheap home products but this kit must be too cheap to use as...

help choose DV camera with analouge in by michel
hi there all - thinking of buying a DV camera to be mainly used as a deck for editing (XpressDV and Vegas). I prefer a camera to a deck... I seen some options such as the mv600i and NV-GS50 panasonic and would like some input from people who tried any. I dont need anything fancy such as low-light, mega zoom and stills capture, i just want a basic and reliable camera which will lock well to the pc...

Canon Problems by Geoff
Hi, I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions for my rather poorly MV300i DV Camera All of a sudden it's just stopped working. It's as if it has just locked up. Just before it died it was displaying messages saying the battery pack was exhausted and that I should remove the tape. When I put a new (charged) battery on it still didn't do anything and the tape will not eject.

Sony TRV 33 verses Panasonic GX7 by GaryT
I was all set to purchase the panasonic then along came the TRV 33 here in Aus, now I am confused. Would love to hear some of your comments as most commercial reviews are mixed and tend to be a little biased. The camera would mostly be used for videos of the kids playing sport etc and for internal video under ordinary house lighting. I have a seperate digital Canon IXUS 330 so I am not...

Nero by Jim
I am trying to write a VCD Of course, I don't know how you will be using the disc, but if you only want it to be playable on a PC the best way is to just make a normal data cd with the video as a file. This won't play on a normal DVD/VCD player, but will get the film on one disc and (prabably) be of higher quality --

YCbCr - Gamma corrected by zing
There are actually several ways to do the color space conversion. The mpeg2 decoder that can be found on http://www.mpeg.org/MPEG/MSSG/#source distinguishes the following standards: ITU-R Rec. 709 (1990) FCC ITU-R Rec. 624-4 System B, G SMPTE 170M SMPTE 240M (1987)
