| | which sony?? TRV19 or PC8 by
pacman
I have a DCR PC9 and I am very pleased with the camera, i think models are
very similar.
DV IN/OUT works very well, image quality is very good and i think it has
good mic, very effective at wind conditions.
It does a good job converting analog to digital.

It's a pity that you haven't a single brain cell capable of contributing
*anything* to this newsgroup.
You really ought to get out more and try to pick up some inter-personal

| | Studio 8 problem with download to DV Camcorder by
Gordon Wilkinson
I am unable to get Studio 8 to output a rendered video to my DV
camcorder via th IEEE-1394 link. The camcorder starts and the tape
advances by the duration of the rendered video but nothing is
recorded. My PanasonicCamcorder model NV-DS33 has had the DV-in
enabled. Can anyone advise how I can overcome this problem please.

Would I get better results when using Vegas 4 to render as avi and then
convert to mpeg2 using something like procoder or just keep it simple and
use main concept plug-in for Vegas mpegs? Thanks for any answers.

I have a dvd writer and a dvd rom. Does it matter which is master and
which
is slave?
Thanks
I temporarily have a LiteOn 52x CD-burner as my master, and a Pioneer
DVR-105 as slave. I burn CDRs on the LiteOn and DVDs on the Pioneer equally
well.

| | Sony digi-cams and xp by
Attila
Any suggestions(apart from the obvious one) please. I have got an 8mm Sony
digi DCR-TRV730E, worked fine when using Adobe, MGI VideowaveIII, Ulead etc
etc, when I was using 98SE.
I was talked(nagged) into upgrading the operating system to XP and the
inevitable happened. Lost the use of many peripherals including the the
Digicam, XP refuses to allow the dirvers etc to load. Finally after 3...

| | question re piracy/legality by
Laurence Payne
If I have a film bought new on VHS in the early 90s, am I entitled to
download a digital copy of it, for the higher quality, or do I have to pay
for it again? (in which case forget it!)
Download from where? Any file available for download isn't going to
be better quality than the VHS.
Anyway, you know the answer perfectly well. :-)

While in theory it shouldnt make a difference it is usually preferable to have the writer as the
master.

| | New Camcorder Reviews by
Steve
Hi, I am considering buying a new camcorder and am a little lost with
regard to which one to go for. I am a little sweet on the new Canon MV6iMC
but as it is quite new I don't expect to see a magazine review for a while.
can anyone suggest a good active Website that has reviews and comments from
real users that I might find useful for some research.
Thanks.........

mike
Is there a program available which will let me split a large AVI file into
more manageable parts? I have a 14gig file which I'd like to split into 3
or 4 smaller parts.
