| | drive not found by
Mick
I have a brand new Sony 510A drive. It's installed correctly, device manager
says it's working properly but
Adobe Premiere, Studio 8 and none of the Veritas programs supplied with it
recognise the drive (although Nero does). Can anyone suggest a solution. OS
is XP. Proc is AMD Ath 2200 with plenty of Ram and HDD space.

| | AVI file to DVD by
Martin Cade
I have finally managed to get a reasonable project saved to an AVI thanks to
the help of Ulead VideoStudio 6. I now wish to get this file onto DVD. I
have Nero Burning ROM but this does not recognise the AVI file. Do I need
NeroVision and/or some other plugin to get this to DVD?
Thanks for your help
Martin.

| | DVD authoring at home - disk reliablity. by
Jerry.
For all of you who burn their own DVD's there is an article in the new
(Sept.) issue regarding issues involving disk life expectancy. I haven't
check to see if they have placed the article on their web site (
http://www.computervideo.net/ ) yet, either way it might be worth a read.

Hi
I need to find a mic for a Canon MV650i that will mask wind noise better
than the in-built mic. I know Canon make a mic, but @120 GBP. Can anyone
suggest a more reasonably priced alternative that will do the job?
Mike
I bought two mics from Maplin. One is a large stereo one and the...

| | Mic for Canon by
Malcolm Stewart
Jessops do two cheap mikes (~£30), one's stereo and the other is mono but
directional. They're fitted with some form of foam windgag, but it would
probably be better to get a suitable Rycote windgag and you may get some
improvement. Do you have headphones so that you can check at the shop?

| | Which software by
ChOcK
Hi
Any suggestions for the best video editing software.
I currently have StudioDV, but it's a bit old hat, and there are many more
available.
Is it worth upgrading the software for my camera?
What are the benefits compared to Studio DV?
Cheers

Anyone got any experience of these new digital dictation gadgets from
Dixons, etc. I suspect they don't sample at high enough quality? I believe
they are only mono and d/load as a wav file to PC.
Looking for something portable that doesn't require consumables as
recordable minidiscs. Is there anything worth buying. Using camcorder and
mic at present and getting good results but would prefer...

| | Help only B/W from CCD camera by
F Proffitt
Hi all, hope I'm in the right group.
I have a Sony DXC-325P CCD Camera which I use it with a Sony V0-6800P
U-Matic Portable Recorder.
For some reason the camera will now only record in black and white.
I know it's not the recorder as I have tried another camera and it plays
back in colour as normal.

| | Only Black and white from SVHS by
Phil
I'm trying to record from my VHS video recorder to my Panasonic digital
camera. I am using a scart adapter and a SVHS lead but can only obtain
black and white. The scart adapter has been replaced but will only record
in B&W. I know that the SVHS lead is OK. Will record in colour with the
composite lead.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

| | Poor quality capture from Sony TRV19 to Ulead Video Studio 7 by
Malcolm Stewart
I'm a (nearly total) newbie too in this area, and have the TRV22; video from
which I've uploaded to my PC using a firewire card and Ulead VS 7. Somewhere I
think I saw some reference to a "preview" mode having lower resolution, and that
may be what you're seeing on your laptop screen.
Captured & edited video sent to miniDV tape and then viewed on TV via the TRV22
has been fine.

| | Sony TRV 33 verses Panasonic GX7 by
GaryT
I was all set to purchase the panasonic then along came the TRV 33
here in Aus, now I am confused. Would love to hear some of your
comments as most commercial reviews are mixed and tend to be a little
biased. The camera would mostly be used for videos of the kids playing
sport etc and for internal video under ordinary house lighting. I have
a seperate digital Canon IXUS 330 so I am not...
