Hypothetical wireless link by Peter H
Is it possible to wirelessly transmit in real time, the video captured by a DV camera to a recorder located some distance away? That is, transmit the capture even as the camera is capturing it. I don't want to do it myself. Iimaginary documentary makers in a story I'm writing want to do it. The idea being that when the subjects of their interview become hostile and demand the tape, all is not...

Date + time display problem with Sony D8 and Studio 8? by Jack
I have a Sony DCR-TR7000 and I use FireWire to transfer data to PC and I use Studio 8. I capture using full DV quality. I get the edited film to DVD fine and I can watch it on TV ok, but it's missing the original date + time (when originally taped). I have tried to look from Studio settings and from Sony settings, but I have not been able to find the setting how I can get this date to display...

Adobe Premiere Normalising the sound over multiple Sequences... by Tom
Hi folks. I'm currently in the process of producing a half hour piece which is formed from about 20 sequences. These sequences invariable overlap during crossdissolve transisions and so do, therefore, the audio tracks. Independantly they are normalised and don't exceed 100%

Video recorder question by Hrvoje
Hi, I had a old (like 8 years) Philips VCR which had a 'tracking' function...it could detect a tape position when you inserted it. I mean you didn't have to rewind and reset the counter, you just had to tell it what lenght the tape is, and it would show you the position. Like it's 1:23 from the beginning. This might be stupid to you, but my sales people can't find models that have that. My new 6...

Foreign MPEG query by Dan
If I assemble an MPEG video which shows OK in my PC, will it also show OK in an American PC. The source of my MPEG was a compliation of PAL video clips. Or to put it another way are MPEGs Country independant - so the same file can show anywhere with a PC which can read/show MPEGs. ? Dan.

Sony or JVC? by Stuart Walker
I am in the final stages of buying a camcorder in the £400 range. I have narrowed my choice to either the Sony TRV19 or the JVC GRD70. I edit most of my footage on the PC and then save it back to tape, but as both cameras have DV in that doesn't help with the decision. I see the JVC does have a low freq wind cut feature and analogue in so that could swing it that way. I used to swear by Sony...

Gosh darned these AVIs anyway ... no audio this time. by fitwell
Well, second dl in a series of which I'm missing on videotape the first few eps. Nice to not have to wait till they re-start the series in a couple of months time. But this time, ep. 2 has audio troubles. ffdshow and GSpot installed so was feeling pretty cocky with new skills I've been learning g. But second dl and right smack up against a brick wall sure cured me of that g. Anyhoo,...

Stupid newbie question by HD
Sorry if this is a FAQ, but whilst quite good on computers, I know nothing about my newly acquired Panasonic NV-GS10B camcorder. Which connector do I use to link the camcorder with my computer to transfer the recordings? There is S-Video out socket, a DV socket (which looks like a mini firewire) and a 3.5mm socket labelled 'To PC'. I had thought the latter, but according to the manual, you...

PCM Audio Files in Windows Movie Maker 2 by DM
I am using a Pentax Optio S4 digital stills camera to shoot video clips. I can import video files from my S4 into MM2 no problem. I can play back the files perfectly in MM2, Windows Media Player and Real Player. The problem is that when I drag a file to the Storyboard in MM2, while the picture remains perfect, the sound becomes totally corrupted.
