Whats replacing the Sony TRV33? by Benny
I'm after my first miniDV camcorder, and its seems everybody recommends the Sony TRV33 for my budget (about the £500 mark). Looking on Jessops and a few other websites it looks like this has been replaced by a 2004 model. Can anyone tell me which is the equivalent in the new range? I know I can still get the TRV33 online, but I thought I should look at the new version first...unless anyone...

Details of Aldi offer by Claus C. Plaass
Guilbert, FYI: www.aldi.de is by far Germany's largest food retail chain, have affiliates in entire continental Europe etc. (even bought chips at Aldi, MO., U.S. - Mid West) their veeeery mixed clientel calls ALDI's philosophy, shop setup, ads and brands "a cult", and I second that. MEDION is one of them and often highly recognized,

Sony DV Widget by Jukka Aho

Recording and Synchronising Sound by Dan_E
Hi Can anybody offer any thoughts or advice in this.... I want to record a presentation at work and getting the right sound quality is important but the video recorder we have has only an internal microphone. It has been suggested that we could buy a minidisk player and a microphone to be placed near the speakers which would record the sound independently

Premiere Pro and Encore by Tom
Hi guys, Using Prem Pro, I've worked out that encoding to MPEG is of far better quality then doing it to AVI first, certainly if the use of stills is involved... ....when encoded to AVI, the stills look dreadful, compared with erfect quality from MPEG2. Any ideas why this is?

Recommendation needed for replacement battery purchase by Steve
My camcorder battery has died. The camcorder is a JVC GR DVL-108 the battery is a BN-V408U (7.2V 800mA). Can anyone suggest a reputable, reasonably priced dealer on the net for the purchase of a battery? Is it worth considering batteries made by third-party manufacturers or should I stick to a JVC-made one? Are there any risks to my camcorder by using a non-JVC made battery?

Motherboard choice and Matrox / Premiere Pro by Jerry.
Anyone using a Abit IC7-MAX3 board with a Matrox RT.X100 card or do you know of any issues between the two ? The Intel 875P chipset is approved (and is used on the ASUS P4C800 Deluxe board that is listed as tested and approved on the Matrox site) so I would assume that the IC7-MAX3 board is OK ? Comments anyone...

Video Capture by daz
I'm currently using a Belkin USB phono capture jobby with videowave5 (bundled in with hardware). Problem is after 10mins the software says it has run out of space... The drive has roughly 10gb free, and I'm using the rgb555(?) encoding with radio quality audio (to avi). After each scene I was going to encode to mpeg... So, my questions are these:

Low light on Canon digital camcorders... that bad? by TrueBlue
I am looking at upgrading my camcorder and quite like the new canon MV730i (replaces the MV630i). I have seen reviews complaining of poor low light performance. Is it really that bad? It will be a family camcorder for me and the only 'low light' situations I will use it in is inside the house in the evening with the lights on. My old Sony (analogue) went a bit grainy in these conditions. What...
