Default DVD Writers + VCD question

Hi there,

I am now looking to buy a DVD writer, it appears that there is a
wealth of drives around in the £80 bracket. I have narrowed my choice
down to the sony drive

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=52123

Has anyone had any bad experience of this drive and its compatability
with Vegas DVD architect etc....

Also a quick question on VCD, I burned my first VCD last night through
Vegas 4 burn video CD section. About half way through the 4 minute
VCD it kind of breaks up and stutters, the sound drops and then it
restarts after missing about 4 seconds. The rendered footage is fine
on vegas and on the DV when burnt back onto tape. The CD is not
scratched. Is this because I burnt at 24x, should I burn VCD's at 1x.
Or is it just that VCD's are not that hot. I am happy with the lower
resolution that I get with VCD, but cannot really put up with stutters
and hangs...please help before I burn any more coasters.

Cheers

Default DVD Writers + VCD question

I'd suggest an MSI DVD or TDK writer

Default DVD Writers + VCD question

Time to come out of hiding...... I've been reading the group for a while for
information, here's the first thing I've been able to constructively help
with...(I hope)...

So Hello to you all.....

The NEC 2500 Dual format 8 speed writer is only £76 plus P&P here...

http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acata...Section__.html

Good company for media been using them for a while.. Fast delivery,
occasional special offers... and good customer service...

And .. No.. I'm not affiliated in any way....

I've had the same probelem with VCD's in that the quality varies. I have not
been able to ascertain whether this is the DVD Player or the VCD Recorder.
Personally I'd experiment with different quality (i.e. more expensive) CD-R
discs, and slower VCD recording speeds to see if this helps.
