| I agree. Tony is an absolute knobber. That's why I rarely frequent the group. I can only imagine what you are like in the real world Tony. But I imagine your bio reads a little like this. 1980 - Forcibly removed from the BBC micro club after being involved in what one member recalls as 'the most vituperative outburst' he had ever seen. The incident apparently related to a single digit missing on another members cross-stitched representation of the BBC Micros CPU's serial number. 1981 - Thrown out of the hornby train engine group after seven hour raging argument on the obvious benefits of HO gauge. The 342 pages of documentation supporting your argument literally bored three members to death. Becomes first man to make his own wedding anniversary present to his wife on a dot matrix printer. 1982 - Beaten savagely at the Star Trek convention after bitterly opposing all theories to do with warp-drive technology other than his own. 1984 - Became first traffic warden to invoke a parking law that dated back to 1294 stating that all vehicles had to have a feed bag tied to the front. Booking a record 265 cars in one day. 1985 - Became first traffic warden to defend himself in court over charges of being a complete anal retentive pedant, relating to parking fines issued in 1984. 1986 - Was found guilty of pedantry from 1984 case. 1989 - Appeals decision of 1984 case even though was no longer working for council. Loses appeal 1993 - Takes 1984 parking case to the high court. Is offered out of court settlement but wants so much to be right that refuses. Eventually loses after Hornby HO Gauge club president turns star witness and recounts seven hour dissertation and accompanying documentation. Loses case. Sun newspaper follows story and attains photographs of Tony sitting at home, alone and depressed in a batman outfit playing trivial pursuit on his own. 1996 - Despite 3 attempts on his life by three separate funded hitmen, takes case to the privy council. Case drags on for a further 2 years. Eventually loses after being awarded Britain's most pedantic man award in 1999, swings the case against him. 1998 - Gets first PC. Alienated all remaining friends by simply boring them to death with his knowledge. 1999 - Wife gets operation to become hearing impaired. Refuses to learn lip reading. 2000 - Second place at the national 'Sound of my own voice' arguing championship. Attained infamy for arguing for a further 2 weeks by correspondence over why he should have won the championship. 2001 Begins legal proceedings against the promoters of 'Sound of my own voice' competition. 2002 - Wife leaves him. Has new career being studied at Oxford university to hopefully discover the basis of human endurance. 2002 - Wins Britain's most pedantic man for second time. Smashes trophy in after ceremony fit of pique after some 'idiot' had put pepper on this steak when he had asked for 'peppercorns'. Gets waiter sacked after giving a 2 hour lecture on the importance of condiment selection. 2003 - Splits time between writing letters to the newspaper, the council and to the pursuit of pompous dissemination of information over internet where people are unable to physically punch him. Still wears batman outfit when sad but is working on his own super hero character called 'knowledge man' and how he attempts to educate the idiots of the world. For those that want a friendly, helpful group where you can ask a question without having to wade through endless pontificating by someone that is probably only here because the even the trainspotters could not handle him anymore - go here. www.creativecow.net It's got all the forums for all the software/hardware issues you could ever want and the vibe is very helpful. "sherlock" wrote in message ... Where have I read this subject header before??? There is a 'wee' man called Morgan Who likes to prove he knows jargon He tries very hard to prove he is dad with his negative posts and technicalities too often He's definitely a bore who knows nothing at all his life must be a sad one So here's a game I'll let him play he's used to losing anyway Add to this post what you want him to do I'm sure you don't need it but I'll give you a clue I'll phrase it polite, but try as I might I'll not guarantee you'll be nice to the wee ****e Translate with 2 words only and reply to group: "GO AWAY" sorry for wasting space here, but others must feel the same about his arrogance? |

| Well. Actually no. My policy is a two for one where I can. For everyone one I ask, I attempt to answer two. Tony can't be faulted to how many he answers and the effort he puts in, that's never been the point. The man puts the effort in - that is undisputed. I'm just not willing to deal with his pedantic churlishness and his insatiable need to be right. But hey...loz..you like him... and there's nothing wrong with that. Enjoy yourselves. For the others...see you on Creativecow! "loz" wrote in message ... "Steve Franklin" wrote in message ... snip And what did you ever do in any of those groups? Sit at the back and heckle? No thanks. Web based forums are slow, irritating to use, and often censored. I'll stick with Usenet, freedom of speech and even Tony. - Dave. |
