| I am editing documentaries for a local PBS, so simple, quick, stable hard+software is sufficient for me. My questions, for which I am seeking enlightment here, a - Rather smeary, washed sub titles in certain conditions, - Double letters/ghosting within the title - On a tv screen, the DC30 produces a horizontal bar, one looks concave, the next convex, then concave etc. which slowly moves from top to bottom (sorta paternoster) I have been thinking of adjustments in the Award Mod 4.51 Bios, as Video Memory Cache, graphics aperture size, VGA palette snoop, snoop ahead, Primary VGA Bios, DMA, PCI mastering or such, but before your expertise and experience is much safer, I think. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Here's some tech and working info: Frame grabbing is done by a standard MIRO DC 30 in 704x576 size, comp 1:6-8, with Win 98 VidCap. Editing program is P 4.2 LE (the DC30 bundle edition). Titles are made with the programs title generator. Strangely, title frame size is ALWAYS 320x240 only, NOT project size 704x576. Changes can't be made. Title colors are picked from P4.2 LE's color palette, minding the "dangerous colors" (plain R or G or B only) and above 236. For title transparency oever blach matte or an image, mostly "White Alpha Key" is used, luminance works as well. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After rendering and saving on hard drive in 2GB portions (still using W98, as the DC30 app doesn't like XPPro) I am recording onto S-VHS. Hope this helps a little. Any other questions, please fire away. Please cc: your comments to me as well. TIA Chris Kiel, Germany |
