Default ulead 5 reports no common media type

i'm using ulead 5.0 with a sony handycam and ti drivers. when i try to
capture, i get a message after a few seconds that there is no common media
type between the pins. i'm using AVI 720x480 DV NTSC 29.97fps because i've
used this before and it has worked. i've also tried other formats since i
got the error but none has worked. what's the problem?

thanks for any help

I have never seen this message myself, so I used google to look for
it.

As a result of that I would guess that there is a problem with your
video drivers. Check that the video card drivers are installed
correctly, and make sure that you are not in something like '16
colour' mode.

Regards,
Harry.
