| "Bill Turlock" "Bill Turlock"@son nic.net wrote in message ... NTSC is 30 frames at 720x480. PAL is 25 at 720x576. ie. same data rate and DV is just a data stream. Work it out for yourself. :-) All-- Been doing video here in the states for ~20 years. Using Panasonic's AG-W1 for conversion, I can put just over two hours of PAL video on a (US) T-90. It must be pulling the tape slower, doncha think? All-- Bill has failed to realise that the first quote above answers the question posed by the OP about DV tape. The comment about T90 tape (VHS) merely confirms what has been said already, that PAL runs at 23 and a bit mm/sec and NTSC at 33 and a bit. I know that some states of the USA are up to nine hours behind us but some it would seem are more than that. :-) -- Malcolm |
