Basically I want to pre arm myself with some details,as I never have much
luck with insurance,and just in case they try to fob me off.

Leroy,

I would read the terms and conditions of your cover. If you are covered
for accidental damage on your 5 year coverplan then I would push to receive
a replacement, rather than repair, no doubt repair is not an economical
proposition.

If you get no change from them try your household contents policy and see
what that covers.
