| Hello. I have just bought my first ever Blu-Ray player a Sony BDP-S370 and it arrived today. A question. The official Sony Wi-Fi dongle for this player is quite expensive here in the UK at around £60 GBP ($94 USD). Can anyone confirm to me will any type of Wireless USB dongle still work with this player or do I need to get a specific type? Also my Wi-Fi link is an ad-hoc one without a router which I set up just for the few times the laptop needs to access the internet (we have wired). I believe it is a WEP encryption with this ad-hoc network I set up so with the S370 does it give you a menu to punch in this long code? Cheers, John |

USB WiFi interfaces require specific device drivers so they are not plug-compatible. |

Any other makes will require specific drivers and there is no way to load those drivers into your blu-ray player, like you would have to do if adding a wi-fi dongle to a PC or laptop. -- Rob |

And which type would you get b, g, n? b, g, and n equipment is almost always if not always cross-compatible. I mix and match them all the time. I know of no g or n equipment that won't work with b equipment, and vice versa. |
