| I need to convert some .mov files to mpeg2 using Linux. I understand mencoder to be a useful utility and have tried this resulting in an mpeg4 output; I need mpeg2 to play on a specific device. I find the various codec references a wee bit confusing so would appreciate any hints if possible. Many thanks, Geoff Lane |

Many thanks, Geoff Lane In case you have had no luck, Avudemux *might* be able to do what you want, documentation is a bit sketchy on it's .mov computability though. http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ -- Wikipedia: the Internet equivalent of Hyde Park and 'speakers corner'...
