Default Best Editing for AVCHD Camera

Hi

I have recently purchased a Panasonic HDC-SD9 video camera and hope the
group might help with a couple of things:-

1. The camera creates a new file for every scene. When I create a DVD with
the HD Writer software there is a pause between scenes. Is there a way
around this? I have tried Nero and it does the same thing.

2. I would like to get a more sophisticated and easy to use software package
to edit and create movies. It will need to be able to create both AVCHD for
Blu Ray players and DVD for DVD players. It should not have the pause issue.
Is Pinnacle Studio the way to go or is there something better?

3. Anyway to append MPEG files together. The Panasonic starts a new video
each day and at the moment with my software I can only create a single mpeg
for each video (meaning if I make a movie over 3 days I get 3 x MPEG files
and want to join them into 1).

Thanks in advance

Bernie

If they are in MPEG format then any mpeg joiner software will stich them
together however what format are the MPEGs exactly?
If they are MPEG2 then Womble is a nice simple editor to join them up and
output a DVD conforming MPEG file - check out videohelp.com for assistance
and software downloads. (freeware - shareware and payware)

Thanks for that. Yes, I am converting AVCHD into mpeg2 files (say 4). I then
want to stitch them into one Mpeg2. I have started to explore your link.
Thanks.

You could try Sony Vegas Movie Studio (my own preference), Ulead Video
Studio 11, Cyberlink PowerProducer or PowerDirector. All can produce either
a DVD, AVCHD or BR disks and have trial versions you could try to see which
you prefer (BTW the trial version of Adobe Premiere does not support AVCHD
but does once purchased)
