| I am trialing a VideoRemaker . I would like to edit video from the DVD+RW which I recorded from TV. When I ADD video files to the VideoRemaker only two "supported files" VTS_01.IFO and VIDEO_TS.IFO from those in VIDEO_TS folder get displayed . First, I do not know which one to edit? They seem to have the same information? Second, what happens with other files that are in VIDEO_TS folder? Can I ignore them? They are VTS_01_1.VOB, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS_01_0.BUP and VIDEO_TS.BUP ? Thanks Roman |

Thanks Roman The VOB files are the actual video portion, they are a form of MPEG2 files and you could if you wish import those into a mpeg editor and edit the movie. I suspect how VideoRemaker works is to edit the IFO files (or how the DVD navigates and what it plays and when) without re-encoding the VOB files. So in effect it just blanks parts of the playback that you don't want to see as if you had edited it. I suggest you go to www.videohelp.com for more info . Basically you can do all of this for free with programs like IFOEdit, VOBblanker etc. The file called VIDEO_TS.IFO relates to the Menu and the file called VTS_01.IFO relates to the actual VOB files and the BUP files are backups of the IFO files. |

In the VideoRemaker description it says: "Removes parts from video files without re-encoding and preserves the original quality." So it looks that what you describe fits with that. Thanks for further explanation and a pointer to more info divoch |
