| What does it mean when a HDTV claims to support 1080i, but can only display 768 vertical lines? My own thinking says some interpolation is going on and the 1080i spec may be dubious. |

The I stands for Interlaced. You want a 1080p set (P standing for Progressive) which gives you a complete frame each time the display refreshes. My own thinking says some interpolation is going on and the 1080i spec may be dubious. Most of the claims on current "HDTV" sets are. I'm waiting until I can afford a 1080p set with good colour rendition and actually half decent reception too ;-) Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2007 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs |
