Default Rotating an AVI Video

I've got a couple of AVI videos taken on my Fuji Finepix camera, they
were taken in portrait mode position so obviously appear sideways when
viewed on my computer.

Is there any way I can rotate this 90 degrees, I cannot find this
facility in any of the playback programs I have.

I'm sure VirtualDub can do this. It's a free download.

Watch in case it splits the link

It's always good to search any forum before you ask a question. Just
searching this group with the word "rotate" in the subject would have
answered your question.

There is a filter in VirtualDub http://www.virtualdub.org/ that will do
it - and it's called "rotate"!! and will do 90, 180 or 270 degrees. There is
another one called "rotate2" that allows any angle.

Thanks, I didn't think of having to add filters.

I have managed to do it OK but strangely a 10MB movie file from my
camera has grown to 316MB when converted :-(
