Default Converting PC television recordings to Apple Quicktime

I want to take a Windows Media Player television recording and make it
readable on a Macintosh computer running Quicktime.

Can I convert it to MPEG2 PAL and then write it to a DVD R disc or is life
more complex than that? I have Digital Media Converter on my computer to do
the conversion.

There's a free WMV codec for QuickTime, so you don't need to do any
conversion at all.
