| In message , Tx2 writes I am looking to change my current crop of video editing software from the mix of Serif and Adobe PE2 as I am upgrading my camera later this year, so a change is as good as a rest (plus I want new features!) I am specifically looking for software that will allow capture from a home brew DVD, that is, something I (or someone else) has recorded, that can be placed in my laptop drive, and captured from that drive. Canopus LetsEdit used to be able to do this I believe, so the 'feature' exists. I don't have a huge budget, so do any of the 'con/prosumer' packages now have this feature? Adobe PE3 says that you can capture from pretty much any device, but does that include the internal PC DVD drive? You might try copying the DVD onto your hard disk, then renaming the VOB files as MPG. Many (most?) video editors have an "Import" facility to move video off the hard disk into the editor. -- Tony Morgan |
