| I've just bought the Sony DCR SR80 hard drive camcorder to replace my Panasonic NVGS3. It records video in short burst of MPG's and my edition of Studio 10 won't accept the format. Not keen on he editing suite that comes with it (Pixela Image Maker) and for some reason it crashed Windows Movie Maker so can anyone suggest any easy to use editing SW just to add a few titles, trim the clips up and maybe lighten a few shots? It's connected to the PC not by firewire but by USB connected to the docking station but it transfers quickly enough Thanks |

Not well supported by the mainstream video editors. And Sony's cop-out is that they supply you with appropriate software. It's called "cutting edge technology".... -- Tony Morgan |

Assuming that the camcorder has an analogue output (surely they would not offer the camera without it?...) the simplest solution I suspect, until software support becomes available - if ever - for the cameras native format, is to capture via a ADV converter. :~( |

If you transfer them to your HDD the change the Extension to MPEG the will open maybe in studio 10 as I dont have it to try I dont know but Vegas studio does |
