| Hi All, I'm REALLY hoping somebody can help out here! I've got several short clips of around 20 seconds each recorded onto an SD card via a Pentax S6 digital camera running in movie mode - it records .AVI files. They playback as well as can be expected in the camera but I can't find any way of storing them and playing them on my PC - has anybody got any ideas? Quality is not especially important - for complicated reasons they are all the movie media I have after a trip to Hong Kong and I would like to be able to perhaps edit them together in some way, or at least to play them. They are .AVI files but Windows Media Player only plays the sound. Any advice would be most welcome! Terence |

You need to find out what codec has been used, download 'GSpot' (http://gspot.headbands.com/) and install, load the .avi file into that program, it will tell you what codec has been used amongst other things. Once you know the codec you can either Google or come back here for some more advise on editors, media players etc. |

Thanks for your thoughts, anyway. Terence |
