| Hi, To try and resolve the problems I had capturing Hi8 video I have obtained a Winnov Videum 1000 plus for good old Ebay! I have been trying various capture formats with my Nvidia wdm driver and PE3 had varous problems trying to import it, it either hung or the video was black corrupted! Has anybody used one of these with Photoshop Elements 3? If so can you tell me which format/compression you used? Did you use the Winnov software or Virtualdub, or something else? I just need a simple way of getting my hi8 footage onto my pc, preferably at a manageable compression, which will retain the hi8 quality, then do minor editing in PE and o/p to DVD. I'm sure this would be simple if I had a Digital8 camcorder, but I don't and I'm new to all this and getting frustrated at buying an expesive piece of software that only really wantes to work with DV-Avi. Can you use a codec to capture to DV-Avi ? Any advice or links to guides etc would be greatly appreciated. thanks Ian |

Well that depends on how much you want to spend, there are al sorts of analogue digital converters around that make such a task simple - but that does mean spending real money, something that you don't seem to want to do, so struggle on! |

Hi, That's right, I don't want to spend any more cash at the moment (will get a dv camcorder or similar later in the year), so I guess I'll keep plodding on and swearing :-) |
