I am quite new to video editing and camcorders. I have recently purchased a Sony DCR HC35 miniDV camcorder and have toyed around with the pre-installed roxio MYDVD LE software as well as Nero Ultra edition but would like to invest in a more dedicated package and hope to embark on a new hobby. I am interested in Burning and DVD Creation, as well as possibly sharing video clips with family via e-mail and over the internet. I have been reveiwing some software online and Abode Premier Elements 3 sounds pretty good. I have also looked at Pinnacle Studio 10 Plus and Ulead Video Studio 10 Plus. Any guidance and advice around these programs would be gratefuly received. Many Thanks - Melianbriggs. Reply » |

| Hi And welcome to the wonderful world of Digital Video! Your journey starts here! I would go for Adobe Premier Elements, Jessops have had an offer for Elements and Photoshop together for about £60 or so(£99 with a rebate). - Its easy to learn for a newbie and can produce good results. Pinnacle software has had some issuses of late -some people swear by it others at it! Ulead can be ecentric but does the job ! When you come to render the edited Video to DVD format ( make up a dvd compatible disc image prior to burning)- make sure you have a fast PC I tried this recently on a 1Ghz Pentium III and it took over 12hours to render a video to DVD format (45mins long!.) | Hello Margaret, How do I know if I have Version 2 of windows movie maker? I open the program, select help then select about this program and it just says windows movie maker (not 2). I do have automatic updates switched on so I think the website says I should have that version. Do you know of any obviuos differences between the two versions so I could be able to tell? Many Thanks. Sounds to me that you are not up to date with your *vital* security updates.... Also, please can you place you replies *below* the message that you are replying to, this is the norm in most if not all uk* newsgroups and makes following the discussion far easier for all - after all, you don't read the 'Who done it' part of a book before the plot! -- Regards, Jerry.
