If you need to ask.....

You need a Hi8/8mm head cleaning tape, there are other methods but I
would not advise pocking around in the tape drive / head mechanism
unless you know exactly what you're doing - otherwise you might as
well throw the camcorder in the bin now!

Are you sure the heads need a clean? Very occasionally I've had "dirty
head" problems and they've gone away after I've played some more tape. I
assume that using a cleaning tape works, but my cleaning tape hasn't been
used yet.

As long as you don't then use the tape again, especially in another
machine!
