| Does anyone know of editing programmes that accept .MOD files from a JVC Everio HDD camcorder? I have searched and found Cyberlink Power Director to be the best so far but woul dlike to try others if anyone knows of one that will accept these .MOD files. |

Just how many times are you going to ask the same ruddy question, this is the third time of asking, what makes you think that you are going to get different answers from those who read this group? All you are doing is making yourself look a bit of a whinging prat! |

| Dear Jerry, My last post gave the solution to my question for the help and advice of others with HDD cameras i.e. Cyberlink Power Director works with .MOD files. I don't think offering advice for the benefit of others qualifies me as a whinging prat. I am sorry if my posts have upset you but you must try to take life a little easier and relax into it or tou are going to be a very unhappy, grumpy old man. "Jerry" wrote in message reenews.net... Which had already been given by someone else in your original thread!... I don't think offering advice for the benefit of others qualifies me as a whinging prat. snip You were merely repeating what someone else has told you in the same group a few days earlier - but heck, your right it doesn't make you a whinging prat, just a prat... The point is, you are not going to gat any different answers in your third thread than you have or might get in your first. If you can't understand this then Usenet is not the place for you and I suspect that you would soon **** off web based forum moderators too. |

I have searched and found Cyberlink Power Director to be the best so far but woul dlike to try others if anyone knows of one that will accept these .MOD files. I did a quick Google search on the topic. Many web pages - including the one which was mentioned by Tony in an earlier message - seem to suggest that the JVC Everio "MOD" files are really nothing but just MPEG-2 (program stream?) files with a funny filename extension, and possibly with a Dolby Digital (AC-3) sound track. Try renaming the files. Change the ".MOD" filename extension to ".MPG", and see if MPEG-2 aware programs (such as VirtualDubMod, VideoReDo, TMPGEnc MPEG Editor, Womble MPEG Video Wizard, or the various DVD authoring applications) will accept them. If that works, but you can't hear any sound, you may also need to install an AC-3 DirectShow filter (codec) on your system. See http://sourceforge.net/projects/ac3filter. -- znark |
