Default .MOD format

I had a great deal of trouble with video editing software not recognising
..MOD files as produced by JVC HDD Camcorders. The nearest I got was Serif
Movieplus 5 which played the Video but not the Audio. However after much
research and some expebse I can report that .MOD files are recognised for
both video and audio in Cyberlink PowerDirector Premium.

I now understand where the .MOD file format comes from but why do

they use
it for camcorders when it is a sound format and how do I make it
recognisable by Adobe Premiere Pro?

Haven't you read the forum as I suggested?

Had you bothered, you would have seen that Premiere does *not*

support
MOD file formats, nor can it be made to do so (nor do most video
editing programs).

Here. I'll give you the link again:

By my understanding there, you'll have to buy Cyberlink Power

Director
and use that to first convert your video to AVI.

Well he did say "after much research and some expense" - but he didn't say
that it was necessarily him that did the research...

;o)
