Ive got a spare 20" Monitor lying around and wanted to hook it up to the
output of my ADVC-100 and use it as a preview monitor for when im editing,
is there a lead or converter i can get as the ADVC-100 only outputs via S
VIDEO or Composite video and my monitor accepts a VGA connection!

Is the monitor a wide-range multisync?
PAL video has 15.625KHz line rate - most VGA monitors don't wake up until
around 30KHz.
You may be able to get a convertor, but don't expect it to be
a) cheap
or
b) very good picture quality

Monitor is a NEC Multisync LCD2000

Will check out the details, might be better buying a cheap TV with video in
!

Definitely.

Using TV out to a VDU in order to preview video really defeats the object.
You can pick up a SCART-equipped TV for £40 at our local co-op.

Indeed, a monitor is designed to be either a TV or VGA screen,
although both will display the other (after conversion if needs be)
but neither does the others job well. If you intend to check colours,
never mind colour correct, you really do need to use the same monitor
as the intended output.
