Default Basic question - I am new to this!

Hi, I have just bought a JVC GR-D340E/EK digital video camera and have a
couple of questions. I am new to this technology...

How is the data stored on tape, as a digital file or as analog video
(like old video camers)?

If I use the DV connector to firewire on my PC an I getting the stored
digital recording off tape, if not what?

If I use the S-video connector (or composite video connector) does this
come off tape as video or does the camera create the video signals on
the fly?

I am looking for the best way to take recordings off the tap into my PC
with the highest quality.

Thanks for your help.

I'd suggest you have a read through:

http://library.thinkquest.org/5139/

And I'd suggest that you read RFC 1855 - specifically the seventh
paragraph in Clause 3.1.1 which identifies you as an immature beginner.

Since you're obviously a newbie, if you can't find RFC 1855 using
Google, please come back and I'd be pleased to help an immature beginner
like yourself.

Why? Because the OP's spellchecker didn't catch the "tap" misspelling of
"tape"?

Big deal.

I appreciate Tony's help, especially as he was not immature enough to
comment on missing e's.

He who can spell perfectly should cast the first stone (with ease!)

I'd suggest that you have a word with your school-teacher since he/she
hasn't instilled in you the very basic reading skills.

Ask him to help you read (and understand) what I say on
http://www.camcord.info/

"I am no expert - just an enthusiastic amateur."

If you interpret that as saying "I'm perfect and everything I say is
correct" then you are a demonstrable dumbo.

I also go on to say "If you would like to contribute an article to this
site it would be welcome " but obviously, being such a dumbo, you will
never have a contribution to make - either to my website or to this
newsgroup.

Now there's a good boy - go and troll somewhere else. All you're doing
here is making an arsehole of yourself.

Morgans
websites full of mistakes!

Care to treat us all to your contribution(s) then?

I'd also be interested (since you think you're so smart) in what
website(s) you have spent any time in creating - No? I though not.
You're just a sad spotty-faced schoolboy troll.

There are two grammatical errors and two punctuation errors in the
opening page. The first sentence is clumsy, but not exactly
incorrect. Spelling seems OK though :-)

The Tuning page is rather out-of-date. And, if we're talking about
the days when there were only 16 IRQ slots ( numbered 0-15, not 15
slots numbered 1-15) we must remember the top PCI slot often shared a
hardwired IRQ with the AGP slot. NOT a clever place to put your
Firewire card! And did we really mean "...power supply issues on
your computer's PCI bus."? Oh yes, and the antediluvian
misapprehension about virtual memory. Spelling's OK as far as I
can see.

Skimmed through the rest. Can't see any spelling mistakes.

Well done, Tony! Excellent spelling!
