Default Convert AV to DV

Is there such a thing as an AV-DV convertor? My camcorder only has DV-IN/OUT
and I'd like to be able to capture from an external AV source. Any ideas?

TIA
Graham

If your camera does not have AV pass through like some D8 cameras, you

need
an AD converter. I have an AverMedia PCI card in my PC that does

this.(£45)
You can also buy a Dazzle AV converter from the likes of PC World etc. The
Dazzle works both ways but is expensive. (£199)

I was kinda hoping for a portable solution, ie small black box that sits
between the AV source and the camcorder. The pen camera producing the AV-Out
is on a car...

What you are looking for is called a "DV bridge". A google
search will find lots of hits (mainly for the Dazzle one).
