| In message , Tom writes Recently bought the above model, and even reading the instructions and following them, I can't seem to caputure analogue footage and record it to my 8mm casette or transfer it directly to PC with firewire. Does anyone know how this can be done? What menu setting need to be changed etc? Off the top of my head...... 1. Set Display to LCD in the menu setting (this should be the default). 2. Set POWER switch to VCR. 3. Press the REC button at the same time as the little unmarked button next to it. Bingo... you're recording from your analogue input. At (3) above, BTW, you can use the II and buttons to pause recording (while you start your analogue video source) and recommence recording, respectively. -- Tony Morgan |

I maybe should have pointed you at a picture on my website, which shows the relevant buttons, at: http://www.camcord.info/archiving/ (near the bottom on the page). Though this photo is not of a TRV355e, IIRC it looks the same. -- Tony Morgan |

| Hi Tony Just got my DCR-TRV33E today and browsing around looking for a start to my learning curve, I went to your site and well done. Its just the bee's knees for a newbie to get up and running. Just passing on a compliment that is due Regards Tony New Zealand (Where 60 minute DV tapes cost NZ$20! Ugh) |
