No doubt everyone has their favourite tape but nevertheless what is the
suggested 'best' tape?

Is there really much difference between one brand and another?

I'm sorry if this has been done to death previously but I've been unable to
find anything helpful.

Thanks.

You'll get as many answers as asking what people's favourite tape is!

Is there really much difference between one brand and another?

I guess there may be, but I've yet to find any that don't do what I want
them to, or certainly not well enough for me to notice a poor recording
anyhow.

I think there probably isn't muc that can de definitive. If there is,
all well and good, but I've found it comes down to preference more than
anything else. For me it's TDK or JVC, just because that's what I have
found at a fairly decent price.

I have a few Maxwell, some Sony, and one or two of another brand that
have all worked without problems too.

Thanks.

I'm not sure the above is what you're after, but I haven't seen anything
that has persuaded me to buy one brand over another for any reason other
than pure preference.

The main thing seems to be to NOT mix brands, or at least different
types of tape lubricant.
