| It might be the wrong group but anyway, I will ask the question. I am interested in purchasing my first LCD TV. I would like to go for a 32'' scree. I have noticed that the priced have gone down quite a lot lately. The price ceeling is around 1000 pounds. Can anyone recommend something? Are there any particular brands that must be avoided etc. TIA |

There's still several left in my local branch. I haven't seen it myself in action, but a friend has bought one, and he's very pleased with it. A mutual friend has seen it in action, and he reckons its as good as his 42" plasma that he bought just over six months ago for nearly £3000. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |

Be aware that the Aldi plasma mentioned here is NOT HD Ready [1], but only HD compatible, just in case you want to future-proof yourself. Sky are set to start HD rollout early next year, and the BBC will be transmitting most of their content in HD before 2010. This means while the Aldi set would be able to accept HD signals, what's displayed would not be a true HD image. I would lay a bet that the £3k plasma your mate has would be HD Ready (it should be anyway!) and so when viewing an HD image (which no-one does yet) it will have a far better picture. If you couldn't give a stuff about HD though, go for it!
