| Hi I've installed Pinnacle 9 as an editing suite but when I try and record from my camcorder I get an error message telling me that the program is trying to record from a 1394 port but no camera appears to be connected. Im fairly certain that Pinnacle is loaded correctly and the Firewire lead is ok, the device manager teels me that the card is being recognised but I still can't get anything to happen, Thought it might be that Driver so have tried to load a new Driver for the Corder but still no success. I'm running XP Home on SP 2 - don't know if that's got anyhting to do with it but I'm really at a loss - can anyone help(please!!) Thks Alan as soon as you connect the camera with the firewire cable you should get a bubble in windows telling you it's found a new 'something'. If you don't get that, either the cable is faulty or the camera is faulty. One solution is to try a different device, maybe someone elses camera, or any other firewire device. If a different device shows up as found by your computer, then it's the camera end that's the problem. Also look in the Control Panel/Scanners and Cameras when you've got the camera connected. It should show up there. |

Any idea where I can download them from - My PC doesn't recognise the Corder at all if your PC recognises the firewire port in the device manager you don't need any drivers for your camcorder. You can plug almost any firewire device into your firewire port and the PC won't need drivers. As soon as you plug the camera in your PC should recognise it, but it all comes back to making sure your PC has the firewire hardware properly installed. And you must get hold on a different camera and do a comparison test otherweise you're gonna be fumbling around in the dark for days. |
