| Trying to make a 7.2 v external battery pack (NiMh) but when I connect it to the camera,"Use Info Lithium" comes up on the LCD and the camera switches off. Is there a way to defeat this,or fool the camera into accepting external power ? I am connecting up by removing the Infolithium battery and connecting to the pins on the camera, the pins (+ and -) the normal battery uses, the centre pin is not used. |

All three pins AND the circuitry within the battery must be there. I know someone tried to build himself a large external battery pack (against my advice) and it cost him £140+VAT to get his camcorder fixed. Haven't you noticed the various flavours of battery across the range of a particular make? The internal circuit in the battery is matched to the particular model(s) for which the battery type is intended. -- Tony Morgan http://www.camcord.info |
