Default OT - Digital/Analog RF converter.

Hi all...I know this is off topic, but given that the UK has had digital for
longer that you blokes would have a pretty good idea about this. That is if
everyones not to busy fielding the myriad of other on topic queries?

*Tumbleweed blows by*

Good...well I've been struggling with this one, and need some help.

A friend of mine lives in an area with poor analogue signal but good
digital signal. He currently receives the TV signal through the digtial
box. But then he bought himself a LG 120Gb HDD recorder, it has an
analogue tuner.

He would like to take advantage of the tuner on the HDD/DVD writer as
otherwise he will only
be able to record the station he watches through the composite in
sockets.

So...basically, is there any way/device he can use to take the good
digital signal of his set top box and some how convert it back to
analogue for the RF input of the HDD recorder.

Or any other workable solution where he can record one program whilst
watching another with a good quality signal.

The set top box has the following INPUT/OUTPUTs

Terrestrial Input : 1 RF input

RF Output : 1 RF output (loopthr.)

Composite Video Output : 1 RCA, 1V p-p (75O)

Audio : 4 RCA (2 pairs, Left/Right), 2 Vrms

Component Video Output : 3 RCA (1 pair,Y Pb Pr)

S-Video : 1 output, DIN type (4pins)

S-Video : Y: 1Vp-p(75O), C: 0.286Vp-p(75O)

DVI : DVI-HDTV Out (1), DVI-D Single Link connector

DVI : 1080i, 720p, 576p digital RGB

RGB : RGB Out(1), 15-pin connector

RGB : 1080i, 720p, 576p RGB

Digital Audio : 2 output (Optical, Coaxial)

RS232 : 1 output (9 pin)

DVI Output Select : 1 toggle switch

The HDD recorder has the following input/outputs

Inputs
AERIAL IN Aerial input, 75 ohms
VIDEO IN 1.0 Vp-p 75 ohms, sync negative, RCA jack x 2
AUDIO IN 0 dBm more than 47 kohms, RCA jack (L, R) x 2
DV IN 4 pin (i.LINK/IEEE 1394 standard)

Outputs
VIDEO OUT 1 Vp-p 75 O, sync negative, RCA jack x 1
S-VIDEO OUT (Y) 1.0 V (p-p), 75 O, negative sync, Mini DIN 4-pin x 1
(C) 0.3 V (p-p) 75 O
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT / (Y) 1.0 V (p-p), 75 O, negative sync, RCA jack x
1
PROGRESSIVE SCAN (Pb)/(Pr) 0.7 V (p-p), 75 O, RCA jack x 2
Audio output (digital audio) 0.5 V (p-p), 75 O, RCA jack x 1
Audio output (optical audio) 3 V (p-p), 75 O, Optical connector x 1
Audio output (analog audio) 2.0 Vrms (1 KHz, 0 dB), 600 O, RCA jack
(L, R) x 1

Any help to this vexing problem are very much appreciated.
